The Expert Angle hook
The Expert Angle hook states who is speaking and why they know, before saying anything else.
A credential answers "why should I listen?" before the viewer asks it. The more specific the credential, the more weight everything after it carries.
Lines to adapt
- I've been a [profession] for [number] years, and this is what I tell every [client type].
- As a [role] who sees [problem] every week, here is what I would actually buy.
- [Profession] here. Most advice about [topic] is backwards.
Fill the brackets with your own product, audience and numbers. Free to use and adapt, no credit needed.
The structure
- 01Lead with the credential, stated specifically.
- 02Give one opinion only an insider would hold.
- 03Connect that opinion to the product, then one call to action.
When to use it
Consideration, and any category where a wrong choice is expensive: health, money, skincare, or software a team will live in every day.
How to shoot it
Cleaner than UGC: good light and a setting that matches the credential. This hook earns its polish.
What to avoid
Vague authority like "experts agree". A real, checkable person, or nothing.
